COMMERCIAL BALLOONING ASSOCIATION
All about us
All operators of passenger transport balloons in this country must be licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority and should be able to produce a Declared Balloon Operator number. This number, which will start with GBR.DTO. means they are fully qualified to carry out your flight and their balloons and procedures are maintained to a high standard and are fully insured.
In choosing to take your flight with an operator who is a member of CBA you can be sure that the operator you have found holds the correct licence, as we do not allow membership from non GBR.DTO. holding companies in any circumstances.
Furthermore you can also be assured that you are dealing with a company which takes your custom very seriously, from purchasing a gift voucher, through to the actual lighter than air flight. CBA Members strive to provide excellent customer service and care and use national Terms and Conditions of Sale.
As a national organisation, CBA also offers an established network of pre-qualified operators. Making purchasing a gift for a distant relative an easy exercise, by using our geographical arranged website, you can deal direct with your selected operator, in the area of your choice.
CBA is also ideally suited to provide a uniformed national network to companies wishing to redeem national vouchers, or run incentive or promotional campaigns using hot air balloon flights.
The Directors and working committee, who manage CBA, all come from the ballooning industry and have many years experience. The organisation was originally set up to offer its members the benefits of belonging to a single trade organisation, as well as striving to offer a highly enjoyable and safe experience to the communities it serves. Its officers sit on many working groups at the forefront of new European aviation initiatives, consumer rights issues, landowner’s relations and countryside protection.
